Aero Gloves
« on: September 18, 2008, 07:03:35 PM »

Had a good look at and tried on the Aero gloves today and have to say that I'm a convert. Great design, feel and innovation, plus they make the Aero grip worthwhile as they do indeed stick to it. Available December onwards.

Do they look as bad in real life as they have done in pictures?

No, they look good, they are different but very clever and would appear to fulfill their design aims.

I tried them on when Phillip was in Australia last month, I didn't really like them very much and I also think that being a glove you can only use with aero grips is a drawback.

Well being that you only use you bat, how can that be a problem?

Well I don't like aero grips personally, therefore it would stop me using the aero gloves because all the other grips are too rough on them and they wouldn't last.

If anyone was thinking about the Gloves...

the box consists of the gloves, Aero Grip and Aero Sweat Bands [I'm pretty sure that was what was said]

I think that once you have worn the gloves and held a bat with the grip you may well change your mind. They felt strange at first because of the pre bent fingers and the fact the glove is one piece rather than multi panels. But the grip was very secure and I feel very confident with the bat feeling secure in my hands.

Don't knock it until you have tried it. The only thing I felt would have been better was more silicon pads on all the fingers.

Did you have any further thoughts Andy?

A bit of a brain dump here

Pre-bent fingers because when the hand is in the relax position your fingers curl, that is you have to stretch out you hands to get them flat...Felt cumbersome trying to get hold of the bat but it is something to get used to because of the pre-bent fingers. Once you hold onto the bat with the gloves you get hooked very comfortable and stable....

The foam is all 1 piece so it disipates the energy of the ball hitting the glove, better then a single piece in the finger etc.... So better protection

yep agree about the silicon pads... also something to note is the P1 gloves are the only ones to come with the silicons pads on the palms... They are there to add extra grip...

Another thing mentioned was that with the gloves the bat is less likely to twist in the hands when hitting a shot...

Err I have tried them, thats why I felt qualified to offer my opinion. I had a long discussion with phillip about them and let him know my thoughts as well.
