Bat Splice/Handle Crack.
« on: June 26, 2010, 10:03:28 AM »

Hi,

Was swinging one of my Kookaburra's around earlier, and I notice it makes a clicky sound with the more wristy shots, under close inspection of the splice area I noticed there was a small crack near the splice, much like this http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=2944.msg33828

I have added loads of tape to the splice to secure the handle in but I think this is only a temporary solution. Would the bat benefit from a re-handle and if so should I send it back to Kookaburra or to an English company as I have heard this is a common problem with Indian bats?

Thanks in advance,
Alex

I wouldn't bother getting a rehandle. Glue it as best you can and tape it. If you're unsure get a pro to sort it but I've had bats do that and it looks worse than it is. Unless it's going to fall out the splice it's not worth it.
