Derbyshire vs. Australia
« on: July 08, 2010, 03:16:29 PM »

Just been to watch most of the first day, has been a quality day nice weather, and saw to amazing innings from Ponting and M.Hussey quality batting, got a few signatures (Peter George, Simon Katich and Doug Bollinger) from around the nets.

Doug doesn't half like to slog in the nets, and everyone bowls spin at hilfy to try and get him out, including dougy.

I misse Doug in the nets, heard him asking the coach for a knock in the morning when Punter had a brief sssion in the morning tanning the cover off everything.

Today was an odd day though, just what was the point of the captains "agreeing a draw" with 17 overs left - of course its a bloody draw, its a 2-day game! Theres 4,000 fans in (more than Ive ever seen at Derby), in belting weather and they pull the stumps out with 90 minutes cricket still to be played! Poor Jake Needham was half way to the wicket for his first knock of the season!!

Sometimes cricket gets what it deserves supporter-wise. Shame, because otherwise it was a great two days and noone is going to be worried by that Aussie attack.
