Guess the bat?
« on: July 13, 2010, 08:59:06 AM »

Hi guys,
Basically my dad got some free cricket gear from freecycle, slazenger v600 pads, some old gloves and thighguard. Then there was a slazenger bat that had some of the stickers removed. when i tapped it on the ground i felt the handle flexing, when i removed the grip i saw there was a big crack in it.
So, does anyone know what bat it could have been? - long shot
Can it be fixed, and at what price roughly?

Thanks guys

Probably just a re-handle, which is usually about £40. Whoever does that will be able to snad it down and tidy it up a bit, although tbf it looks pretty good already

ok, bit more expensive than i thought. ill probably get my dad to strengthen the handle enough to have a net with it and decide if its worth the money. used it for 5 mins have gentle throwdowns in the garden and it felt pretty good :)

I think thats what a re-handle costs. Maybe ask a few of the bat gurus on here who do refurbs for a more accurate cost

Because of the grey/black Logo on the back and the big profile, I would guess it's an Se model from 05/06 that Collingwood used. The model could be Ultimate, however it could also be Elite pro.

think the handle has had its day by the looks of it, looks like some one has tried to use polyfiller to try and stiffen it up again! could end up with a 2 part bat if you swing it at a ball ;)
