Biggest edges doesn't always make the best bat!!
This isn't a dig at anyone as we all have our opinion but I'm not sure I understand the current fascination with massive edges, not just with the players but also a lot of companies who are making bats with bigger and bigger edges
I think T20 has helped encourage the idea that more wood = more runs. People see batsmen using bats with big edges, but dont think about the talent these batsmen have. Most of them could hit sixes with a 2lb 7oz bat with 25mm edges just as easily.

It isn't even necessarily that there is more wood - its often just proportioned differently...
Yes good point, specifically more wood in the wrong places really. You're not supposed to hit sixes with the edge as far as im aware. Makes sense to have as much wood in the middle as possible, and back yourself to time the shot so that's the part of the bat you hit the ball with.
