It is nice! And it's a nice one to have in the collection!
That's 9 bats down and 80 or 90 to go! Will try to get one of the pro bats in every now and then.
But that's all for this evening as feeling tired now!  8)

I had the kahuna graphite and tbh don't think it added that much power but looked good

great collection so far pete

I like the profile on that choice and the stickers look very good too. Have used a few before and they're nice bats.

Special request for that £400 bat you bought to have a review and any other talismans/rare bats you have...

BAT 9 - Black Cat Shadow (main match bat)

As the title suggests, this is my main match bat this season. Started to use this bat in June on tour and got a shock!
In the first over I hit two boundaries which went like rockets. Then three boundaries the following over. The middle on this bat is pretty big and it's amazing how responsive it is!!

The bat weighs in at just over 2'14 but the half dozen team mates who have picked this bat up and felt it have all guessed the weight at around 2'10 or 2'11. The pick-up is light considering the dead weight and the bat feels very comfortable when at the crease!
It has 15/16 grains and the edges are reasonable size but not huge. I guess the one feature that can't be 'seen' on this bat is how responsive it is. I love it when I go to play a gentle little defensive stroke and the ball shoots off the blade like a trampoline! And when I play an attacking shot, then the result is fantastic.
So the best way for me to describe what this bat gives (which can't be seen from the pictures) is confidence!  8)

that pete is number one now look at the grain structure on that.

without doubt forget the 300 grain bats that looks the real deal

and agree if your confident your bat can do it it usually does

good to see you are using all the bat, not just the middle ;) I find you get much better value for money that way!

Buzz - I always like to use the edges occasionally too. And other parts! What's the use of having a blade that length and then only use the middle??  ;)
But as I said, when the middle is used, it seriously goes!  :D

And Dave - it really does perform as good as it looks fella. Couldn't be happier with it.

Firstly Mr Hosking . . .that's looks a beauty hope it brings you a shed load of runs.

I do not profess to be a bat expert but my opinion for what its worth is that on bats of this weight

At a weight of of 2lb 10/11 and above i would expect a bat to be very good as you have more volume of wood.

i would rate a bat as exceptional if it was 2lb 7/8 oz and played as well as 2lb 10+ oz

what im trying to say is that getting a light good performing bat is rare. . .they tend to have a smaller middle

The benchmark I use for bats over 2'10 is the Redback Allegiance - the Redback sets a very high standard, so it's a great standard to judge other bats by!
I realise that most bats over 2'10 should go well, so when a bat comes along like the Black Cat, and performs even better than the Redback, then that is the equivalent of a 2'7 bat performing like a 2'12 bat!!  :D

BAT 10 - Puma Millichamp Original

This bat is a throwback to the days when the JM messiah was making bats for Puma.
Very traditional in shape and profile but yet nicely balanced and reasonablt pick-up too.
This weighs in at 2;13 accoring to the digital scales with 7 grains.
This is one for my collection and not really one I'll use!

Pics to follow.......
