been reading up on these 'laminated' bats on the forum and lots of mixed reviews.
can honestly say ive never seen one before and just wondered if they were worth a punt?
just cant get my head round two bits of glued willow...... surely cant be a good idea!!

Tried one off the pro, wasn't too teen on to be fair, sounds a bit funny and looks awful looking down at the stance, but of course that isnt important if it goes like a train, this one however did not

I got one from Adas at Uzi Sports.
I have sold it on to someone in my club and he is really happy with it.
Goes like an absolute steam strain.
Has a punch like Tyson, and nearly as ugly

how many do we reckon are around being used that we dont know of in most of our standard of cricket though??

im just a little unsure of what to do peplow.
it sounds daft but until i came on here i didnt know they existed in UK
thought it was mainly an indian thing!
just dont want to fork out for something i may not be 100% sure on using in a match.

Just out of interest to all more knowledable bat people on here, what are the two bits fused together with?? always wondered this, just glue or something stronger?

Glue mainly, although i think quite a lot of things have been tried in the past . ie. sandwiching in different materials
I am told that one of the best is rubber based glue, but there are lots of theories on it.
I was told that a lot of internationals were using them but have been told to stop it, so ithe trend, certainly internationally is dying out.
Most local umpires struggle to couunt to six amongst everything else so i woudl doubt that you would ever get called up on it.
The only risk would be coming a cross a bad nerd who would only spot it if they had a really good look at your bat.
I covered all the open open bits with bat tape and side stickers, but mine was more obviously a laminate as the two bits of wood are different colours.
Front face with something like 17 straight grains and edges of about 40+ millimeters.
Tis a beast! and all for �115 pounds

Yeah they can be easily covered up! Hence why many internationals were getting away with it! Sounds like a bargain mate!

Too me it gives you an unfair advantage, I'd rather get 100 with a normal bat than know I got 100 with an illegal bat

ok ok so very mixed views of the bats.
Illegal... but WEAPONS if test players have had their paws on some.

might answer that age old question ' why do pro bats look so much bigger than what we get in shops??' lol
another answer to that though is that they are custom made by an old man in a tiny shed in the middle of nowhere then stickered up by the sponsors
