Whats your point...

You should accept Hampshire won and not make a list of excuses which are all either Somersets own fault or part of the game! You can't blame the whole loss on Pollard being injured, he wasn't batting brilliantly anyway and your hardly a one man team. Another of your players could have stepped up but didn't.
an 8-ball 23 not brilliant enuf to u?

He was batting alright but as soon as they bowled short to him he clearly wasn't comfortable. Anyway what about you blaming your loss on Pollard, at county level other players should be able to step up!

I bet that Hampshire are now so glad the penalty for the poor pitch against Somerset is going to be applied next season!

but had pollard faced the final few deliveries, who knows how much would have been posted. arul suppiah threw away a match deciding wicket.

Wazza - sympathise with the fact that Somerset have twice made the final and lost both times! But as unfortunate and disappoiting as that may be, they are still an exciting and excellent team.
On paper they were stronger than Hampshire....but Hamphire just seemed to find that extra fight on the day! There are so many 'ifs' and 'buts' fella, but in the end they just seemed to admit defeat an over or two early! And as it turned out luck favoured Hampshire, even though Hampshire almost hit the panic button in the last 2 overs!!
Somerset will bounce back!

Somerset were the best side.

a)Had Cork not got annoyed by the awesome hitting of Pollard and a result try to kill him, we could have posted a score higher than 175.
b)Had Kieswetter managed to hit the stumps in the final over of the match, Somerset would have gone home as winners.
c)Had the man at square-leg managed to catch Sean Ervine in the penultimate over.
d)Had Pollard been able to bowl, or even field.
e)Somerset would have also been 5 down had Cork not been a ~#@~

In my opinion, Somerset were robbed.
And Dominic Cork is one heck of a >@{~@}?

Sorry Wazza, I'm a big Somerset fan myself, member for 5 years!

But I don't know how you can say that?!

1) Is it illegal to bowl a bouncer?
2) It is down to Kieswetter to hit the stumps, his fault if he misses!
3) Likewise with Compton on the boundary...
4) Pollard could not bowl or field because he missed a short ball....
5) I was impressed with Cork, he showed a lot of concern and sportsmanship after Pollard's injury.

Yes it is gutting that we lost, but in all Hampshire took more wickets than us, and up untill the last 2-3 overs they batted much better than us..... Well done to Hampshire!

Wazza - we will lock the topic when everyone has stopped discussing fella.

J-Ridd10 - I agree, both semis and the final were all pretty damn close and offered amazing entertainment! I was there last year and the final was not close so lacked the suspense that this year offered. Saying that, I think in some ways that Somerset did throw it away a little. But you could also say that Hampshire gave them a sniff of a win in the first place!! Hampshire were cruising and could have won with an over to spare but panicked and started slogging at balls - Both McKenzie and Carberry got themselves out by pathetic attempted baseball shots. In a way, this all added to the tense finish and made the match so entertaining!  8)
