Hi all, this is my first new topic so if i have put it in the wrong place i apologise in advance. I always thought that the newbery tt wasn't out until next year, until i saw it on owzat cricket: http://www.owzat-cricket.co.uk/acatalog/Newbery-TT-SPS-Cricket-Bat.html
first of all is this genuine and everything? also if i do order it from the above website, could i email them to discuss weight, number of grains, or do you just have to order and wait and see?

I'd advise ringing the shop up, and say you are due to order online etc can you tell me what you have in stock and I'm sure they could sort you one out. The people at Owzat are always happy to help.

Owzat are a genuine online retailer which have a good reputation, im sure you can ring them to discuss what they have in stock in terms of so they can see if they have one that comes close to your desired spec.

Like most shops they will prob have 3/4 in stock so 1st come 1st served applies

Blimey have you seen the price inc VAT though �279.99!!!! I nearly spat my tea out then....there was one for sale on here you could have picked up for at least �50 less.

Maybe worth going direct to newbery as may avoid the retailers mark up then and get a better choice if your seriously considering forking out for one?

Shoulders remind me a bit of a willostix

These style shoulders stem from the excalibur i think, which the willowstix bat is just a copy of.

Yer it's a more modern t20 excalibur I think, not sure whether I'd want to pay 280 for a t20 bat unless I was happy using it in longer forms of the game

Having seen a few in the flesh, i wouldnt really say that there use was limited to 20/20 or one day cricket. The shoulders aren't as drastic as you think, it is a bat which i'm sure most people would be happy using in all formats of the game.

I had a go at making one myself, ended up looking more like the Willostix

The willowstix bat is a bit different. If you compare the 2, the stick has more of the shoulder taken off compared to the TT, to help the pickup and balance of the bat. Would be interesting to see how the TT picks up, as the cut off is alot higher comapred to the stick. Mind you ive never heard of a newbery bat that doesnt play exceptionally well
