Ok - Hosky's Top 5 from the Lords Trade Show.......

Number 5: Millichamp & Hall

These are my number 5 from the show, due to their very nice softs, bags and other gear.
But also their classy bats. But the main reason for M&H being in my top 5 list is their new model of bat they added!
It is top of the range bat called the AMPLUS. It is a very nice bat too - The RRP will be around £380 which means it's the most expensive stick! But the bats that were there weighed around 2'9 and had edges of around 40mm (or thereabouts) and a great pickup! This was based on the bats they have made for Pros (restickered as other brands of course!) and they even had some counter balance weight at the top of the handle! I must admit it was a beauty!!
This would have been higher up my list but there was no update on their softs, and that was the only new model!

God I'm dying to see this bat.... That's on par with Scat money must be special

Had they changed the stickers at all?

No change of stickers on the M&H. And may try one out eventually but not just yet.
The Amplus certainly looks and feels like a great bat...the size of a generous 2'14 but 5oz lighter!

Number 3 - Chase

Chase does not have a lot of exposure but it is at my number 3 due to 2 reasons! (Contraversal I know)
There are 2 new models of bat -
T20 model: the blade is an inch or so shorter with longer handle, and looks a decent bat. Would I use one above all other T20 bats...NO.
But the second bat is really very nice indeed! The BELUGA model is lovely profile, well balanced and feels great in the hands.
But it takes more than two new models of bats to make my number 3...I'm not that easy to please!
There is new technology under the scuff sheet which is like a glue/thin gel? Wasn't told too much about it but it offers alot more protection against cracking and damage! And also they are working on technology where the ball mark is shown on the scuff sheet for 2-3 seconds so that the batsman can look at where the ball hit on the bat immediately after the shot is played. I'm not sure how close they are to adding that but it sounded immenant!
They were talking about the scuff sheet too, but I can't remember the full details which made it different!  :(
Anyway, the couple of different technological touches, plus the very nice Beluga model made this my number 3!

Number 2 - Gray Nicolls

They had the biggest stand and lots of new gear. They have ovbiously been busy boys this year with all the new helmets, shoes, bags, pads, bats, etc. But I need to pick out the specifics which put GN in at number 2!!
Four reasons I made made this number 2:
1 - Perfect duffle bag! Pro Performance Duffle Bag. Has padded shoulder straps and padded on the back to allow someone to be able to run or cycle with this on. But perfect shape, design and looks.
2 - Great lightweight trainers with support in the inside arch area which is great for me (as I over pronate!)
Nice design and great support with better prices than Asics! Will it tempt buyers away? Who knows, but nice anyway!
3 - Legend wicket keeper gloves! I would say the very best keeper gloves I have ever tried on! They are light, fit nicely, and soft and comfortable! They feel amazing and I would be surprised if people don't love them!
4 - Legend bat! It is soooo gorgeous! The stickers look stunning but simple. But the profile and quality of the bat is amazing. Big and meaty and yet picks up beautifullly! I could be tempted, although talk was of £350-400 RRP!  :(

Number 1 - Salix

Well, I was surpised! The softs are always very good with Salix. The bags are excellent.
But the new bats.................... :D
There are 3 models: The Pod Knife, The Pod Black and the Pod White.
They have different levels of willow for each model - Performance (G1), Grade 1 (G1 better) and the Players (G1 Woof!)
The Pod Knife had slightly squarer shoulders and slightly diff profile - Forgot to take much notice as I was too busy admiring the other models!!
The Pod Black - Great all round profile with some concaving for lighter pickup.
The Pod White - smaller edges and less concaving. Tons of wood in the meat of the bat! Loved this bat!

And the Players bats were shaped beautifully! The edges were shaped to be a little more narrow at the back of the bat than at the front.
The bat stickers are new too! And I would say that the bat labels are the best I have ever seen on any bat!!
The make the old stickers look ordinary. The workmanship and quality of the bats was top notch!
