Jos Buttler
« on: September 04, 2010, 02:09:47 PM »

I think he deserves a place in the one-day formats for England

Just compare the strike-rates!

He can fit easily into the Squad as he has kept in a few Pro40's for Somerset.
Anyone agree with me?

Have a look at the scorecard now!

78 runs, 28 balls, 7 4's 6 6's

He was invited to net with England at Cardiff on Friday, he went with Max Waller as well

in a few years time maybe, but he's not above bell, proir, kieswetter/davies, carberry, denly, lumb, shah, samit etc. the names go on, he has only performed well at county level. when he scores a ton against a decent attack will he stand a chance. only making 3 against pakistan ?

t20 semi-final vs notts, he took apart nannes, sidebottom and broad. looks good enough to me
and he was run out, so there was a problem with the calling rather than his technique

I don't think he's ready yet, but I'm sure he'll be involved in the performance squads this winter.

Great player. Played against him in 2008 and as you can see from the scorecard he did not hang around that day either. Guess he was 16 then as well !!

Trego and Hildreth must be knocking at the door as well, both have had great seasons in all forms.

The guy can clearly score very quickly, but as has been said it is still quite early in his career, although I don't think it would have hurt to bring him into the squad to take a better look at him.
