Nixon Storm LE
« on: September 05, 2010, 07:57:09 PM »

After a few weeks of searching for a bat i decided to go for a Nixon, I've used a Nixon before a number of years ago but that was a friends bat i used in a net session. I had been searching around for a bat that would be what i class as a bargain as i don't like paying £200 or more on a bat as i don't feel its necessary. The bat is 2lb 10oz with a fairly light pick up although its balance and feel is very very good indeed and the profile is not the biggest or the smallest id say somewhere in the middle, the profile is perhaps an old school English type with a lower middle for the slower wickets in the North East.

Nixon are not a brand that you see a lot of outside Yorkshire which means there are some bargains to be had, they have a massive following around the region they are made and have a superb reputation which more people should check out if they are after something a little different and made here in England. Will do a full review after i have used it in the nets although I'm certain it will perform just as i expect. Not sure if many others on this forum have a Nixon but id be pleased to her from anyone who has. Took it along to the club yesterday and two of my team mates have ordered one as they were very impressed also.

Looks nice lush willow fella!
And quite like that profile too!

So share with us what the cost was for this fine piece of Yorkshire?

Nice to see another Nixon being wielded around the North East.

Looks a lovely bit of willow, any chance of one appearing in your collection Pete?

Lets just say i had change left of the £150.00 i had put to one side which is a bargain, i will be keeping hold of this one but if anyone is interested in  Nixon i could certainly get more at this price and less.

Lovely looking bat only matched by the fantastic price you paid. I totally agree about not wanting to pay £200 plus for a bat, especially when there are bats like this out there.
