« on: September 16, 2010, 10:45:44 AM »

Tom can you upload pics for me :)
First attempt at making a bat (will not call it pod shaving yet) The cleft came from Tom as he a project he gave up on.

That is a really good effort - what weight did you get it too?

For your first attempt it looks good, would be my perfect profile if it had a lower middle

i got it down to 2.11 and a half without grips etc, it picks up not to bad, it taps up nicely with a mallet its got a decent rebound (will not call it ping on here) and fairly long middle
Talisman its the cleft Tom got from you.

Well it should play well then.....

How much shaping did you have to do?

Very very good. Especially considering what a mess and how rough looking it was when you got it.

Looks really really nice, cracking first effort! Could be your calling! Nah really nice, with my attempts found it difficult to keep it the right shape with a higher middle

Yes well,Quite a bit as the edge down 1 side was how can we say without offending any one,i know,i think tom had a sneezing fit when he was doing the edge and slipped at the same time as there was a chunk out ;),so i was very limited on the profile, also i think he must have had a power cut when the spine was being lined up,or he was trying a new idea for left handers :)

Haha yes, sounds about right. That was my first effort and I'm amazed someone could actually make it into something wieldable with their first go!
