chase bats
« on: September 17, 2010, 01:59:05 AM »

I have been scanning the internet for all different types of bats and was about to settle on a salix(175GBP incl. Delivery to Aust.). Then I noticed Chase bats have
come up on both Wisden and AOC top bats. Can I get some feedback on what these bats are like?

Club I used to play for in Hampshire had loads of players with them. The 175 and Sumo used to fly. 175 picked up very nicely. Sumo was very heavy though. Very good bats in my opinion.

On Chase - they make some nice bats - Dave (Procricket) is a particular fan. As with a lot of bats you may be best off actually seeing if you can make it to Dummer Down Farm to choose one.
Arh I have just seen you are in Aus - that might make it a bit difficult then...!
If you do want to buy one of these bats - Try calling the guys up and get them to pick one out for you. There may be better bats around though

I know Chase very well and they get their bats made by the best but I'd not say that you get value for money or great choice from Dan. You would get much more value and choice with some forum brands here, Black Cat, SAF, Hell4Leather for top quality English willow bats.

Good job i AM  back to listen Mike on your theory if you like

Tut Tut good job i back.

You can have your bat shaped by Dan at Dummer into your own shape style a current international captain gets his from Dan as do about 70 per cent of the Middlesex side.

Not going to harp on but much more choice i was not aware any other brand on here makes 5 different models in there range  but i not going to say there all not quality because if you read around they all seem to be

Good to be back HEY

Merely a little cold water applied to some claims made by Dan and repeated by Procricket, and I'm still expecting "Captain Chase" to mine for a visit....

I actually have a secret DF to bring out if he gets violent, I'll swing it in front of him and wait for him to fall into a trance.... I'm sure we would both benefit from a tour round the garage.
