Scalp of the Season
« on: September 23, 2010, 01:22:53 PM »

Basically as the title says, who is the best player you have got out this season? I class myself as a batsman who bowls, and I bowled way too much last year! My best scalp was probably a guy called Reuben Reid who now plays football for West Brom, and played 2nd XI cricket for Gloucestershire when he was just 14! And apparantly Gloucestershire have said to him that if he changes his mind and wants to play cricket instead of football (doubtful!) they will offer him a contract!

I reckon over the forum there should be a few good players :)

I've not really got anyone amazing out this year but have got Jed Pitman (ITV West Tonight presenter) out whilst trying to sweep me caught at orthodox square leg :)

Got Terence Duffin (ex Zimbabwe test player) out last year when he was playing for Winsley - was quite happy with that!!

I got Steven Davies out when I was younger as he played for a rival school and club, I played against him quite a few times but to be fair he did hit me around the park a few times.

Bowled the opener from the Jamaica Defence Force, who play in the Jamaica 40 Over Tournament. Can't remember his name. That's probably my scalp of the season!

Not this season but in recent years I've had both Matt Horne and Tom Cooper somehow get out to me.
