I can play most shots reasonably well, I can't play leg side shots across to the leg side to save my life. I just defend them or play straight or inside out.
Anyone with any useful tips would be much appreciated, thanks
what kind of a stance do you take - open or closed?
Do you have a trigger
when you say leg side shots, are you trying the glance or the drive (as you say you have trouble with the fuller, rather than shorter ball)?
I ask all these questions as there are lots of different reasons why a leg side shot may be difficult and you set up may make it harder - as can trying to hit the ball too hard and falling over and not having your eyes level which makes playing through the leg side impossible. Some good comments above though.
As mentioned, Michael Clarke is a wonderful player through the leg side, as is Ian Bell and a talented young player called Tendulkar...
Edit: forgot to mention that sometimes because of the line of the ball you can become a bit unsighted with legside shots if you are in a bad position, so players struggling to play leg side shots frequently need to watch the ball a bit more carefully (a bit of an over rated suggestion, I know

)
