Surely it would be more beneficial if non-moderators could see whether or not a person is banned.
Because ~90% of the time a mod is not involved in the transactions.
I would be interested in what other members and moderators think of this.

Yeah IMO itd be very useful: there's a rule saying no selling to banned member isn't there...? But how can we enforce it if we don't know who's banned?! Maybe something to improve on, and make this forum even better

how are banned members allowed to trade. Surely their PM system is disabled?

Members are banned for all sorts of reasons, buying or selling goods with them carries a risk but so does every sale.

Please make sure that you cover yourself fully, make sure that you have proof of what you are sending money for and do it securely, if you pay with paypal you get cover, never send cash. Do your homework on the person you are dealing with, and if you are unsure then please do run it by a member of the Admin team.

Surely, we would not have to hassle the Moderators if this information was public.
Sometimes, moderators aren't online so I feel there should be some sort of warning.

Well there are over 1000 members on here and if one ripped you off we would put them on a banned list, the easiest way to see if they are banned or not is to PM them, if they cannot reply then they are banned.

But surely they could post some sort of excuse on a thread.
i.e. I can't check my PM's at the moment because i'm on my phone.

My point is that you should make sure that you trust the person you are dealing with and protect yourself when dealing with them.

A banned members list would show those banned but they might say it was for swearing or something like that, anyone could con you so without a sure way of never getting conned being available we have to just trust our instinct.

And no, they could not post if banned so just wait until they can prove they are real.

Send me a link, I'd have to check the banned list myself to see if/when they were banned.

i myself, have a group of members that i will deal with. Those members are well respected on the forum and it reflects on their dealing.

It would be good that if banned members, that have then been unbanned had a note on their profile saying why they were banned. Or you could make the stars under their name black?

great idea with the stars. but the things was that i got a very good offer from a relatively new member, and it could not be beatenanoy of the "big" sellers on this forum.

mike - search Krakatoa SPS and it'll be on there somewhere.
