Interesting thread, really made me have a think. Over the years I guess Ihave always favoured the more classic branding, Newbery, Salix etc.

Still true, but consider two of this forum's bat makers. SAF and H4L. The branding couldn't be more different. One bright, colourful, in your face. The other simple, classy, smart. Totally different but they both work brilliantly. I think those two makers currently represent the most eye catching branding available. So it shows you can go down either route and as long as you get it right, it doesn't matter which you choose.

I liked the older Gray Nics of historical weapons, Scimitar, Rapier, Longbow etc.

GM have had a very random approach over the years with no real set semantic field.

Cannon, Icon, Purist, Maxi, Diamond, Imperial, Flare, Luna, Apex, Hero, Radius, Maestro, Duellist, Catalyst, Skipper... i could go on (GM freak here)

Science: Catalyst, Flare, Luna, possibly diamond

I believe there was a V800 and I think an Aussie V8, V23 and V389

V99 was a nice bat the mate had one but loved the v800

Glad they have gone back to this rather than that air blade stuff

Glad they have gone back to this rather than that air blade stuff

me too , dont know why really but since they dropped the V number system iv really gone off them , i used to have a V600 pro , went like an absolute rocket !

They are not adjectives, they are nouns! Purest would be an adjective; the superlative form of pure.
