Pod shaver wanted!!
« on: October 07, 2010, 11:47:41 AM »

Right, after contacting the AF foundation and hearing they have no Freddie bats left at all i am deciding whether or not to spend the money anyway. I wouldnt mind sending my current match bat to a current top class English based pod shaver for duplication or even making a custom order. unfortunately i dont have the contacts to do this alone so wondered if anyone could advise or point me in the right direction. have about £200-£250 to spend and in no rush so waiting for the right cleft isnt an issue. i know there are plenty out there/on here but want to narrow the list of possibles down. if you could list your top 3 reccomendations that would be great.

cheers guys

Did you find out if the bat sold by Owzat was like his profile? If so, wouldnt you be better off just buying that?

they never got back to me mate and the foundation said they had all gone. was same profile and weight as freddies bat at that time but made by Puma not freddies bat maker. so basically you were right, just a 6000 with added stickers and grip. shame really.

Who made Freddie's bats then? Puma? if so you could just ask Rob Pack for a copy.

I could use the book but it may be preferable to go overground on this one....

Barrington sports has a freddie bat for sale @ £249.99

Has Been on there website all season. I'm sure they would send you some pics.

Also Robert Pack is very approachable and happy to discuss bats n profiles etc.

yeah! i have tried contacting barrington but to no avail. sigh.
i might email/ring Mr Pack and see what he can do. in the meantime if anyone knows of/ has contacts for any other specialist gentlemen (no gigolo comments necessary) then i'd love to know if its at all possible.
Talisman has a black book? that guy is full of little surprises.
