Best Thigh Pad Set for £20?
« on: October 16, 2010, 12:55:26 PM »

I'm after a proper thigh pad set after using a set of slazenger padman shorts and finding them not entirely comfortable, any suggestions? I've looked at the Kookaburra Ice set and the newbery aegis set, and views on those?

My Newbery GT thigh pad is a very nice thigh pad, along with my GM original LE inner.

I would also recommend the Kookaburra thigh pads, although the Ice range feels like you actually aren't waering any protection as they are that light!

Think theres an Adidas inner and outer for about that price on eBay, and they are smart, although dont know how they are to wear.....

Ahh, it's good to hear personal experience, i'm looking at the Kook Ice set as my local cricket shop has them for about £20 i think, and it's good to hear that they're very light!

I would try on as many as you can as so many vary as size. Pick the best quality, the Newbery Aegis is good quality.

If you are around 5'10-6'2 the GM original LE inner is very good.

Yeah thanks, I'm not too sure how many i'll be able to try on though, as my local shop doesnt have the widest selection of kit.

I have the kook ice set and thing they are really good especially if you are about 5ft9-10, as I am taller I use a hawk set as my match kit.
