no chip hear big lad i am know for my jazz hat cricket for a few clubs just something i noticed when i opened up the link.

I think that is the point there trying to get across about being a upper class brand i think...

I understand the image there trying to convey and i think they might have missed the point

Your all right though there soft do look very nice indeed and more focus on them than the blazer and jazz hat was my point.

Fair play, but it's still based on each person. I think everyone's ragging on them because they're apparently "high brow", they're a new brand and we should give them time to get their feet firmly on the ground.

People are not ragging on them!
They are looking at the website and the 'feel' of the brand and giving their opinion on that part!
Also there are comments about copying an existing brand. Obviously there are some brands that inspire other brands. But the point made is that perhaps the branding has been a little bit more blatently copied.
A few of the photos are corny - a cross between a public school brochure and a Littlewoods catalogues...male sports section!

These are peoples initial comments on the websites. And I am sure that there will be more detailed (and more constructive) comments once someone on the forum purchases one of these bats.
I was chatting to a guy with one of these bats and he did state that it was a decent quality stick. We are not criticising the actual goods - I personally am simply commenting on some of the branding and the website.

PS. Dave is only commenting on them as he is a 'salt of the earf' geezer!! And shoots any toffs on sight!!!!

I do not see an issue with the branding having been copied or blatantly copied from another brand. We see this happening almost in every product category.

There are loads of cricket bat brands with stickers inspired from other brands. I know 2 brands with stickers possibly inspired by Salix).

The bats are really very good. I have seen 3 of them last week. Not played with it (as our 1st XI captain does not like people using his bat). The pick-up was really good and going by the way our 1st XI capt was timing the shotsthe middle looked really very good.

)... nothing wrong with a public schoolboy targeted brand - typically they have lots of cash to spend on kit (or Daddy has) and these guys have associated themselves at the wealthiest cricket club in Surrey - right next door to Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club. They are pandering well to their target market.

The only surprise is that there aren't strawberries and cream pictures too.

Look beyond the obvious and think why you would set up in the way they have. In this case they have a sensible sustainable model with a wealthy target audience, in an affluent part of town.

I am not sure people should be taking the mickey any more do you?

quite right...lots of bats look similar these days.yes the shape does look New...ish,the gloves do too,and the bags,and the pads.But the bats looks quality,sticker design is very classy and Buzz is right,it may be aimed at the right market.Yeah,the website looks a bit Jack Wills...
The bats,pads and gloves all look very reasonable too,top brands going over �300 for a grade 1 is a bit steep.
I hope it's a great success,he's a good bloke and the bats look quality.
Bet he has a good source of clefts too.Good luck to him.
If I had �160.00 for a bat right now i'd certainly go down there and buy one.

i know a couple of players sponsored by them but people jump to conclusions about class and stuff both good players and one of them is out of the Newbery stable.

Like i said the kit looks good and although (quaff quaff) the prices are very reasonable indeed....

If anybody has taken offence to my rumblings sorry at no stage did i say the kit was nothing but good looking

�200 for a top notch bat is reasonable!
Especially when compared to the bigger brands in shops!!
