Isnt Hayden's deal up in the IPL so will be in the next auction? Wonder if he'll get a new deal or not, he has struggled a bit since that 93 hasnt he?

To be honest with the prospect of the IPL now being 7 teams it must be under serious pressure to unravel. How many more corruption charges are likely to be brought with the BCCI and other internal investigations yet to finish?

Did they decide on the RR case yesterday or not?

I think it will probably kill itself off as well. Shame really, i'd miss those "DLF Maximums"! At least year Modi wont be in shot every 30 seconds

Its taken the ECB about 4 years to even try and come up with something like that

The article seems to be very pessimistic on the status of ODI and tests.

I think we should have a poll or something on the forum as to how many serious cricketers (people on the forum) enjoy T20 more than One Day. Even as a spectator I enjoy a good spell of pace and swing bowling much more than a quick fire 50. I say that as a batsman who has opened batting most of my life. T20 spells the death of attacking bowling for me.

For me ODI any day over T20.

Both forms of the game pale into insignificance when compared with Test cricket.  So long as that is the primary form of the game, I will be happy.  The rest is mere frippery.

I don't mind it, but, i would still go for ODI over t20 given the choice. I think the ECB have missed the boat with enhancing t20 in this country to the level of the IPL/others. The original t20 cup was bold and exciting, but as always they just sat back and let someone else develop the format.

I don't like the idea of IPL and its likes. Simply because there is so much commercial interest there that these leagues might overshadow ODIs and Tests. From a commercial standpoint I would think Test cricket is least interesting but due to the history and widespread support it will always be there. ODIs I think may be sacrificed.

I don't like American Sports due to the blatant commercialism. How long before we have timeouts and changing lineups in T20 cricket?

Then money arguement is a tough one. I dont begrudge the players earning a much as they can in what is still a pretty short career, but, the money brings alot with it (agents, contract disputes, deluded ideas of grandeur, corruption and many more).

Any young cricketer should aim to be test cricketer in my eyes, and not a t20 specialist. Near enough all of the top earners in T20 cricket are established stars at test level

Although we have seen that Aussie guys get into other OOz sides based on his T20 play.

I prefer a good test match over T20. T20 is thoroughly swayed towards the batsman and is a different sort of contest at that level.
