Already been a few topics raising money for charity, personally dont think its a good thing for the forum if too many pop up. Maybe it will have to be regulated... not saying I have a problem with Sam's and Andy's topics that is.

A forum chat? Like facebook chat? would be good to get hold of members

not sure if there is a chat function but u can have shoutbox's that show up at top or bottom and u can have converstations in them but will take up alot of bandwidth.

there is a mod for chat

I hope SMF is alot easier to mod than Vbulletin, used to be a pain applying patches on a forum i was admin of.

What about putting add this buttons on pages? Will allow people to share a link or thread they like across fb/twitter etc. Gives people the chance to show they are a forum user to their friends etc, and, could help in raising the places profile with more links in to the site.

Good idea that, maybe q&a or interviews with people in the trade like bat makers who sponsor the forum etc
