It is, I think it will be useful on the low pitches at the start of the season. You really have to go within about 3 inches of the toe before the unpleasant vibration begins with the mallet.

Yeah i guess that is down to how thick the edges are down near the toe . . .and its 2.5lbs! How is the pick up?

Or too much tapping on concrete!

Nah just the way it has sunk into the cushion. It annoyed me when I took the pic.

I have a good bat to compare the pickup to, my Salix fera. Both bats are 2'8 with a ribbed grip, but the Salix has a higher middle/much less wood lower down. It's fair the say the Salix feels like a wand on pickup, most amazing pickup I've ever felt. The Hattori obviously doesn't feel quite as light, thats physics for you though. That said, it doesn't feel heavy by any means. Impressive considering all the weight down the far end.

i still feel the hattori sticker on the back is a tad on the small side , that said looks a nice bat :)
