We have topics on here for what are perceived to be e-bay bargains and what is e-bay tat. Many of us clearly spend far too long looking at bats/other cricket kit on there.

My question is:

What's your best e-bay cricket bargain and your worst e-bay cricket tat?

I think my unused H4L 2009 Excel for �65 maybe my best e-bay bargain. My worst e-bay tat is probably the CJI Sumo LE that I bought (and then returned due to the item being not as described).

My best ebay buy was probably - either a golf bag I picked up for �20 (brand new, normally �90) or a 2 iron I picked up which matches my iron set.
worst was either of the indian unbranded "planks" I bought which were purchased before I joined the forum. being used as firewood this winter as far as I am aware...

Best was hunts county glory custom classic, virtually new paid �34 a couple of months ago

Worst was a mjolnir sps, used but looked okay. Got it cheap at �67 but was abit of a plank witha bad refurb!

picked up a couple of decent breakfast. bar stools for �20 when they were worth �80 each. spent a tenner on some new walking boots/trainers. they claimed to be waterproof and breathable but didn't hold out much hope doing the Yorkshire three peaks in them, however they were brilliant.

worst buy was an mp3 player from hong kong that claimed 4gb but was infact 1gb, and the pair of ghds that never showed . the seller did a bunk and ebay never recovered the cash.

Best buy was a laver carbo Comet stickered up as a Duncan Fearnley Magnum. I paid �40.00 for it + postage and it was never really used now looking like new with laver stickers on waiting for next season. Worst buy was a CA bat bought before going on this forum for �15.00, now stripped down as a middleing bat and it aint really any good for that either.

only went cheap as the seller didnt offer postage, so i sorted a courier for �6-7

the pictures made it look crap, but it had a full length anti scuff on which when i too off made it look new!

Best buy was a 1990 Golf GTi 3 Door Big Bumper, mint condition and had �2k sound system, bloke was going abroad and paid �600 for it, currently awaiting a full refurb as 2 years hard service has shagged every single part of it.

Worst was a sale, the wife sold a full Denby dinner service to a woman in Yorkshire and I spent a day at work bubble wrapping every single piece and send in liners and boxes as I was used to posting out �5k bottles of Cognac and making it utterly drop and crash proof. She sent a load of it back and claimed if was delivered broken when in fact she had swapped it for used items and they had been all hit with a hammer. She won her case and we lost nearly �300, but when I'm in Yorkshire next I'll gain some revenge.

Mike, had something similar myself. Sold a camera as used, but in good condition. The SLR mirror needed cleaning, as was mentioned in the posting. The guy who bought it paid pittance for it, then complained about me mis-listing it and requested a partial refund. I refused and told him he could return it and I'd even pay the postage for him. He then posted negative feedback and opened a Paypal case on me. Boy was I frustrated that i couldn't post negative feedback on him.

The result was that he ended up returning it less p&p and I found a couple of interesting marks on the casing that weren't there when I photographed and sent it. Digging through his feedback I discovered that he'd made it all private so I got the impression that he did exactly the same thing to other people.

I've got a shredder here that was claimed to have been used just once, the head is worn out and does not even work, I also have mirror glass for the Pathfinder that is neither heated or even the right size for the car that they will not provide a return address for. Ebay is a great system for those who are less than honest but overall there are more positive than negative, it's just that the occasional bad egg undoes all the previous good trades.

It has nothing of worth apart from the shell itself and the sound system, I drove it hard and the suspension needed swapping as did the discs and pads on the front, the engine was getting a little smokey and the gearbox had a tooth missing in reverse. Couple with a need for a car seat I have stored it at my parents. It has a few changes such as a debadged Jetta front end and DTM letterbox exhaust.
