Bat Repair

This is my bradbury bat it needs repairing if possible as cracked through toe & goes up about 2 inches on the back.

PM'ed Mike last week but no reply is it repairable & if so cost.

I would say a repair could be made, but it would be temporary and prone to further breakage at any time.

Is my 2nd bat as I have a SAF was gonna get another SAF but due to finances need to put tha on hold.

Hi Perkins, lamitoe would not help in this case. Lamitoe is a piece of hardwood inserted into the toe, the theory is that if the bats toe cracks the crack will only go up to the hardwood insert and not all the way through the toe like the crack in this bat has.

Yes they do, but once a bat has cracked all the way through the toe it wouldn't make a difference

Looks like the damage to the Modulus I sent to Mike. Difference is it appears to be only toe deep. I suggest that you get it dowelled, glued and clamped. If it is only two inches, then you will probably be alright for a bit, but it will only be a temporary repair, and expect the digging out of a couple of yorkers in the next season to reopen the damage. That kind of cross-toe crack is the start of something fatal!
