Younis Khan

What a wonderful innings he played today. Came into the side after a long time and smashed a unbeaten century on day five for his team.

What a player I must say!

I'm sure Surrey was the zenith of his career and the pressure got to him... Over this past year he has been treated nothing short of shabbily after winning a world cup and his head must have been all over the place.

I rate him because of this:

Particularly his 173 at Leeds when Inzi ran him out.

I agree Roco - but has some temperament for the big occasion. A Colly with shots.

Would have liked to have seen him in a settled side but can't argue with those stats at test level

Fine player. Adds a lot of grit to the pakistan batting line up. Similar style player to Dravid.

Run outs are always there for Pakistani cricketers. I was sad after seeing him get run out for 199 against India.

He is one of the best 4th innings batsman, stats;

# 92 batsmen have scored 500 or more runs in 4th innings.
# Only 15 batsmen average more than 50.00.
# Younis is 5th on the list with an average of 62.00.
# Only 4 batsmen (Younis, Ponting, Sarwan & Gavaskar) have scored 4 100s each in 4th innings.
# Younis scored his 4 100s in least number of innings (19).
# Only 7 batsmen have scored 3 or more 100s each in 4th innings.
# Out of 3 batsmen scoring 3 100s in 4th innings, Sachin has taken most innings ... 49 of them.
# Of the current batsmen, Hussey has the best 4th innings average (63.12).
# Sehwag averages 29.19 in 4th innings.

He might not be a great player in some people eyes but he surely is one of the best batsman in pressure situation. I remember in a Kitply Cup he got two 0 and in his third mach he smashed a century against India in final so he certainly is a match winner for Pakistan

I think there aim was to stay at the crease as long they can and they didn't care about the score.

Azhar Ali did the same thing by playing 150+ balls innings.
