question re: full spike shoes
« on: November 17, 2010, 01:15:59 PM »

i have got some adidas full spike shoes.

would i have grip problems when im batting if i took out the back half of the spikes and just left it blank. I mean i could put in the screw in plastics at teh back but they feel weird with them. could i just take the back ones out completely and have nothing there>??

I have found batting in full spikes to be better for me, but I think it is an entirely personal choice

I also prefer batting in full spikes, I personally feel it gives me a better control of my foot movement and less likely to slip

Ask Michael Atherton about batting in full spikes. He swore by it throughout his entire career. But.... 99 run out at Lords and he was wearing.... Half spikes. Left crawling towards his crease! Full spikes for me all the way.

tried batting in half spikes but kept slipping when turning as I try to really stretch myself!

Full spikes are fine for batting.

Got some gold Adidas 22yards lite and cut off the back blanks and put spikes in. Feel more confident when turning. I wore Puma Iridium rubbers first half of the season and kept slipping - conscious of getting injured so got the Adidas'

Mine are asics strike rates, they have the athletic spikes in them. I use them for batting and bowling
