Spike Combinations
« on: December 06, 2010, 02:20:09 PM »

Just bought a new pair of Asics multifunctional spikes, and was wondering what combinations people use for batting and fielding.

Tend to use half spikes for batting/keeping most of the season mate, unless you play on a paddling pool, then I opt for full spikes/flippers

I use full spikes for batting/bowling/keeping, It gives me the best grip and support.

Full spikes all season. But then, I'm primarily a bowler who likes to rough one end up for the spinners when batting...

Yeah I hate playing in anything other than full spikes... could not imagine bowling in anything else.

Although on occasions when I have had to keep its nice to just wear some trainers... hurts if the ball hits your foot mind you!

I always play in full spikes and bowling boots even though I rarely bowl that much. Anyone know where I can buy normal spikes but long ones as I'm sure try come in different sizes

Keeping batting or fielding always been half spikes, ive found the spikes in the back only get in the way, and slow down foot movement, any change of direction should come from the ball of the foot so unless you bowl seam up ive never seen the need for full spikes, personal preference at the end of the day

Prefer to bat in rubbers, have an old set of Reebok that are so comfy & found I was planting foot a bit so helps with my footwork i find. (probably in my head)

If theres moisture will wear half spikes.

If I was to bowl would be full spikes trying to give up.

Rubbers for batting, unless it's really wet and full spikes for fielding/bowling.
