Collingwood out, Bresnan in. Extra fast bowler would be ideal, as Finn seemed to be blowing a tad during this Test.

Happy Birthday Ricky Ponting. Good Birthday present for him eh? No wonder he's so happy!

very average from England, never looked like putting partnerships together or making breakthroughs with the ball, outplayed totally and cant blame the pitch - big improvement needed in Melbourne.

The fact that Eng's batting crumbled twice in this game must be a concern. MCG takes spin though.

Exactly my worry as well, I think if we don't win the next one we'll lose the series as I worry we'll start thinking about drawing matches and not be able to stop more collapses.

2 up and coming players for aus, Nic Maddison and Chris Lynn, remember those names. Lynn is 2 top run score in FC over here and madison is top 4 or 5. Not bad for a 20 (Lynn) and 18 (Maddison) year old.

Interesting that in Australia, Hussey averages above 100 against spin where as overseas he only averages around 39 agains it.

Wonder who will come in for ponting for the rest of the series....If I was a selector I would drop Clarke and give captaincy to Haddin.
Haddin is playing well, keep the pressure off Clarke and Huss. Drop Hughes (as much as thats harsh) put clarke up to open and bring in North to captain the side

Ponting will be ready for the MCG, he'll play no matter what. Did a similar thing after the injury he got off Kemar Roach...
I think we're overreacting a bit here. Australia bowled very well during this test with Johnson finding some form and Harris bowling superbly. Few bad shots here and there but mostly just bowling from the aussies. The team is fine, no changes needed, it was good enough to win at Adelaide so why not at MCG. Would back us to win at MCG as it takes spin where we have swann and the aussies only having the "batsman" smith...

Ponting will play even if he has to get his finger amputated.

I hear the Aussies are changing the pitch at the mcg to one with a green top, looking for a repeat of the events at Perth..
