Isn't it a drop in pitch? getting extra pace and bounce out of that will be tough, they may overcook it and create a spinners wicket.

Not sure the change in pitch is going to make a bit of a difference, realistically it will be a result wicket and it is the ground in Aus where Eng have the least bad record (!)

All to play for!

Hauritz just hit his second FC Ton, he can bat at three! Also someone mentioned Maddinson, he got 137

Theres talk that Finn may be rested too, due to suffering exhaustion in the last test. That would dent our bowling attack a fair amount as although he's been expensive, he has taken a lot of wickets.
That may mean bringing meado man Bresnan into the side which i am not happy about!!

Aus should bring in David Warner to opening and do a Sehwag, Tamim Iqbal or Dilshan job

I would love to see Morgan get a shout over Colly, I am really trying to justify his place but other than his fielding, I can't really. I thought he might pull out a performance in the second innings like Cardiff last year but he had a shocker

id like to see shahzad in for his ability against left handers (hussey), straight swap for finn

team otherwise should remain the same but with bell moving up to 5 and collingwood down to 6

I would put Bell at 4 an move KP back to 5 which is where he has been at his best and Colly at 6 - I don't think dropping Colly is the right thing to do at them moment because he brings so much else to the team, plus as we are playing 4 bowlers the 10 overs a day he can produce helps as well as his match winning catching.

Morgan will get his chance.

PM sent

Finn looks shattered and I think they will wait and see what the pitch looks like at the MCG before they decide on any changes - I still think they will prefer Bresnen over Shahzad if they make a change, but I haven't seen either bowl recently so would know who would be the better bet. Obviously Bres brings more all round, which is why they will pick him. Shahzad, I think, is probably a better bowler for a test match.

But Finn is the leading wicket taker in the series...

can we afford somebody to go at 5 an over, even if they are taking wickets? thats up to flower and strauss i suppose.

somebody with the proven ability to torment left handers such as shahzad must be an attractive prospect given the current form of mike hussey
