If Bradman had played as many test as Sachin, he would have 4 times as many 0's compared to Sachin also.. Just sayin..

IMO what makes Sachin the greatest is the ease he switches formats with, Test to ODI to T20 he always seems in control of whatever situation he's in.

Bradman would of made 97 centuries 44 half centuries and 23 0's based on test stats

Hardly 4 times the amount 0's and ODI'S and T20's were not around in the 30's and 40's.

Tendulkar has also said that he is offended to be mentioned in the same vain as 'The Don'

Tendulkar in my opinion is the greatest cricketer of the 'modern era' but not of all time

My point wasn't to compare stats, it was to show how stats can be made up just by looking at averages..

No point in comparing stats for them two..

Everyone has their own opinion, my point was just to point out the versatility of Sachin's batting in different formats..

Brandman is peerless in stats terms, but.. there is a nagging doubt that he did not play the short stuff well. There are a lot of pitcures of him stepping a LONG way  to leg.
He also did not play anywhere near as much cricket as Sachin has played  and this puts anyones stats under threat. Also because he was a leg side nurdler i think puts Sachin in the same sentence as Bradman who i dont think was as much better than his brilliant stats suggest. No one mentioning Lara, who changed a game quicker than either of them?

Warne is right up there

Imran Khan always gets forgotten as one of the best all rounders, but hard to get past Sobers.
Who do you think better between Richard Hadley and the best all rounder for a while Kallis?

Dificult to compare a bowling all rounder - Hadley with a batting all rounder - Kallis and a genuine all rounder - Sobers. Because of how the three of them play, you could pick all three in the same team.

imagine how good jack hobbs' stats could have been if he didn't get himself out after passing 100 a lot of the time because as a professional he felt his job was done...

Some people will get into an argument about anything.

Both great players. Why is it necessary to compare?

As long as there is sport players will be compared it's all a bit of fun which people take too far we each have our own opinion as I think sir viv is up there with anyone as a batsmen

Deffinately not the best of all time, although most certainly the best of the modern era. I always like to say back in Bradman's time, cricket wasnt their job, they had to work full time (40 hour weeks) and then train after work, also no planes to take them around, which meant weeks to months on boats and time away from family, plus the fact that Bradman didnt play for a couple of years due to the war. Now adays cricket is their full time job, all they have to do is train, analyse their technique spend hours perfecting it and then implementing it, plus they get paid way more. I'm not saying that its easy to train all the time like modern day cricketers do, but its better than working 40 hour weeks then training for hours on end afterwards. Also, back then the fields were bigger and bats were smaller, now, fields are smaller and bats are bigger, doesnt make sense to me, all they need to do now is get a thick edge and it races away for 4 or even 6, not back then, either 1's or 2's.

Yes steelcouch, the more you play, the more you have to lose in terms of stats, however, this extra playing has afforded modern day players to have cricket as their full time job plus, more cricket also means you have more match time to improve. So less playing possibly means better stats, but in saying that, why was no one else anywhere near bradmans stats, clearly its not a case of "He didnt play much so that's why his average is so high".

Also bats were small back then, now they are big but light, just put the bat there and a deflection will go for 4 or 6 in today's game.
