If it is a 'lost test' then I agree Jeet, Australia should play young'uns for the last test.

Yeah probably was a bit harsh looking back at it. Although I think hes looked very ordinary on a pitch that should suit him perfectly as a 'hit the deck' bowler.
Hauritz needs to be recalled to add something extra to their bowling attack, adds something with the bat too which would be invaluable to them at the moment...

I think they have no choice soon if they want to be a good side in the future

Agree with them is that Mcdonald Ronald who plays for Victoria he average at best

The end for

Ponting
Katich
Hillfenhaus
Haddin
Hussey if he''s had enough?????

Haddin and Huss will remain I think.

Hauritz has been a big loss for Aus in this series.

If Sydney's a square turner, than Stephen O'Keefe should make his debut, he been out-bowling Hauritz in Shield cricket. But they could both play.

Ponting won't stay on without the captaincy.

Ponting's eyes have gone, which is why he is no longer in the top league.

Tendulkar on the other hand will have to go blind before he comes down a league, or two.

hauritz wont play - he had a yard sale of all his aus kit, and when interviewed he told the reporter "i dont play for them any more"

would be very unaustralian to select the man after that

Nice to see so many nice words about Punter.

But the reality is Punter has dictated to the selectors on who can be selected in the Aus XI which has seen the demise of the likes of Brad Hodge and the like. Hilditch has been compliant to this situation during his tenor as CoS causing a second rate XI's to be picked consistently which ultimately will cost Hilditch his job.

I ask you all this, is Smith the best number 6 in Australia and how the hell is that Gen Y flat track bully without a technique Hughes being picked?? Beyond belief really!!

Ponting in Australia will not be remembered for 25,000 international runs but will be remembered as probably one of Australia's worst Captains in living memory, loosing 3 Ashes series and 2 in a row on English soil the first to do so in 90 years.

His record as Captain without Warne and Co is appalling and speaks for itself.

The issue of not dropping down the order is sheer arrogance when many before him such as Alan Border and Clive Lloyd did so in the twilight of their career and with great success.

At the MCG yesterday the Australian crowd was hostile towards Ponting which is unprecedented, it is time for Ponting to move on and concerntrate on his golf

katich will not be going anywhere, especially since the selectors will see it as a choice between him and hughes. katich is a great foil for watson with whom he has formed a settled opening partnership. hussey is in the form of his life and i cant see him wanting to waste that by saying enoughs enough. hilfenhaus has looked toothless, maybe he will fade away and theyll look to someone young and exciting like mitchell starc. haddin isnt going anywhere either, that ton in brisbane should keep him in there for a good 2 more years

Why would Katich not play again? Solid opener and talk of him being fit for the final test. Seems a good option for me. Far better than the number 11 Hughes!
Not a case of Ponting's eyes going, nothing wrong there as he is still quality in the slips. Just going through a bad patch of form and showing what a terribe captain he really is!
O'Keefe looks alright but not really someone that is gamechanging or a break-through spin bowler which is something they desperately need.

Mr Cricket i think they will restructure and Katich is 35 and i think in the long term and short his days are numbered.

Ref Haddin 33 possible has 2 years left but Paine is in position to make a claim

I not saying he will not play again i just saying after this series i see a big change in Australian sides
