What is wrong with Strauss. 330 lead and 2 slips?! Knock the ball on his head, and he might arrive in the real world :S  >:( Get on with it boys.

Hussey should go back to his Ice Gear.

Ice Gear - 195, 93, 52, 61, 116

Rogue Gear - 8, 0

Its the man using the gear that makes the difference mate ! not the kit colours etc

Not strictly true. Superstition, psychology, both play a factor in it. If he's used the Ice gear and scored runs, he might not wanna change. It's all part of cricket, from Neil McKenzie strapping his bat to the bathroom roof to Trotty scraping at the pitch to mark his guard every ball.

psychology is effected by such superstitions such as that but ultimately its the player using the kit that's scoring the runs.....idiosyncrasy's such as trott and his OCD scraping at the pitch and someone having scored sum runs in their now "lucky" jocky is a state of mind rather than actual proof!

im imagining kook have got him using the new gear to boost sales and raise the profile of the range.

the fact that England are on fire and hes not scoring runs isn't due to him now using the same bat with diff stickers on it :)

I don't mean it's solely down to that at all Tom! I'm just saying it plays a part in their mindset, if you go out with new kit that you've not used before thinking it'll lead to your downfall, it may well lead to your downfall!

hussey is the man who carries a set of scales around in his kit bag to ensure his bats weigh the same before each innings! he obviously places continuity in high regard and possibly a change of gear unsettled him, unlikely but surely worth a thought?

also, new pads and gloves are always stiff and take a bit of wearing in, surely not as comfortable as all his old ice gear.

none of this is a massive excuse, but maybe, just maybe, slightly valid?

I would have though he would have fluffers to make his kit less stiff

Proof is there (to me anyway), Hussey didnt get below 50 with his Ice gear and now he changes gear and he gets no runs. It's not like the England bowlers havent been dominating Australia, except for some patches, so the only thing that has changed really, is his gear.

Also, going back to the last test of the 09 Ashes, did you that Hussey was the first batsmen to score 6 consecutive half-centuries in ashes tests. 121, 195, 93, 52, 61, 116
