Stump Collecting?!

Just had a few thoughts watching the ashes highlights. It applies to any international game but the only time I've really noticed. When the match is ended, obviously if it's a series win or a thriller etc some of the players take the stumps as souveniers. Can just imagine Sachins garage full of as many stumps as Hosk has bats!

Ive noticed many a time that Sachin walks off after scoring the winning runs and a team mate grabs a stump for him as he seems too focused to remember.

I have a stump from a game we won. But I did break it when I was bowling so I decided to keep it

I was given a stump which was broken in half by a 45 yard direct hit from the oppos Sri lankan pro I was consequently ran out with that throw lol

The first cricket box was used in 1874. The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

It already had a crack in it, the ball just hit it in the right place.
I'm not 'fast' at all lol
