Salix Pod One Grade One 2009
« on: January 02, 2011, 04:26:33 PM »

2009 model purchased on line in early 2010 from Cricket and Hockey of Salisbury, paid just over £200 in the sale, which I thought would prove to be a good deal in future. 12 months on there a few of the 2010 model around for £200-£225.
In terms of the aesthetics, workmanship and high standard of all round finish including the grip and graphics this bat in my opinion is a notch above other comparable brands. Having said that, I have not used the bat yet.

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.

100 not out

Thank you for your comments.
Final two photopraphs. Bat is stored in conditions which should avoid it drying out plus it has been lightly waxed. Will be using it in nets soon.

A Pod One Grade One 2010 medium weight bat is still available for £199.99 at Pro-Direct cricket. These are rarely available at this price and the quality can be relied upon. As noted elsewhere on the forum, 2011 top of the range bats are commonly starting at £300.
