I honestly don't think Colly has been THAT bad - after 4 test matches he's only had 5 knocks, as he only batted once at Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne. He was going ok in Adelaide and got 40 odd, and was in good nick in the warm up games. I think though, as mentioned previously, the perfect scenario would be for him to hit a match winning ton in Sydney, England win the series 3-1 and he announces his retirement from the test side going out on a high.

Anyone know if the weather's going to be ok for a prompt start?

It's weird, would you rather retire after an Ashes series win in Australia for the first time in 24 years, or bow out on your homeground?

I just hope the weather holds for an ontime start

Usman Khawaja should not be batting at 3. If Aus bat first and one of the openers fall within the first 5 overs then its going to leave alot of pressure on the young batsman.

If I was a selector I would have him down at 5 with clarke at 3 and huss at 4

Is Clarke the man to bat at 3 though? The selectors will be worried that if an opener falls quickly and Clarke, a man in poor form comes in, then he goes aswell the momentum will be all England and they will be scared about another under par score.

Maybe but then surely they should be worried about sending a man on debut in? as the same is likely to happen, at least clarke will have enperience on his side, and he has made a 80/90 odd this series..

In all fairness all the hype surrounding Khawaja, if Australia dropped him down to 5, England would be all over him with the banter. If he's good enough to play for Australia, then he should bat in his own position.
