I know it is a lot of money
I have spent a lot on a bat from asad and in the end I got a fantastic stick
well worth the money
the reserves look better than that one even
I went with an bas millenium from asad

A shame, because the likes of Yuvraj, Dhoni etc using Asian bats would make you feel that �200+ is worth it! SS bats along with Newberys are the best performing bats I've ever had. The SS I bought from Mr Sareen himself, and the Newbery retailed for �300+ and I would gladly spend �300 if I could get a duplicate of either bat.

Got to agree there i have used a couple of asian bats a shadow le by BAS and a plain gd 1 SS and there as good as anything

One the other hand doesn't Dhoni use SPYDER

Dhoni has used Spyder quite a bat, but then again he has a different brands bat basically everytime he goes in becuase the vast majority of Indian companies give there best bats to him

mate i just think its that are experiances with asian bats isnt fantastic

I see ss make the bats with Nike stickers on them , but who makes the bats with the Reebok stickers , are they from the ss factory aswell?

Depends on the batsman using it. Some SG, some SS.

Indian cricketers are probably a bit fickle, I dare say Sachin excluded, but most of them would have used an SS bat at some stage in their career.
But absolutely, there is some rubbish on eBay, some is still genuine SS (but low end) usually for the Indian market, so you're not going to get quality stuff unless you trust your seller. From a reputable seller you should also get the after sales service should anything go wrong.
We've done reasonably well with the Indian SS Platicum reserves we are selling on eBay, sold 4 out of the 5, despite the thoughts of eBay and Asian bats.

It's likely that Reebok may be using several suppliers. When MRF were big, they used 4-5 different suppliers. We had a difficult time even though we ordered directly from MRF, because the same bat would come with different coloured grips, would be a slightly different shape ... and then with so many fakes going around, it was difficult to convince some people that they were genuine. SS were one of MRFs suppliers

Yeah my experiences with friends Indian bats haven't exactly been great. Toes smashing, poor pick up, too soft and don't last and they weren't exactly cheap bats. I suppose if I found one that I could pick up and feel I may be swayed but if stick with who I know when paying that much money out

I've also had SS bats that have split almost in half, but prior to that they have been guns. But I understand ... if you've had a good experience with any bat, you'll like it, no matter the brand ... and conversely if you've seen bats split and crack, etc, then you'll want to stay aay from it.

My biggest concern though when selling an expensive bat is that the buyer knows how to look after it. No disrespect to anyone here, but these days with everything being so convenient and most manufacturers labelling their bats as "pre-knocked in", if the user doesn't take trouble to knock it in themselves further before use, or to protect the bat inside a bat cover, or not to hurl it into the dressing room after being given out to a dubious lbw, then they're wasting their own money ... even if it's a �30 kashmir willow

Interesting story about rage after getting out. A guy who opens the bowling in our 1s got given out lbw when he inside edged it, and our changing room has a door separating it from the away changing room. He chucked his bat through that door, and managed to get it in a straight line! So it's parallel with the ground, still there today, I was quite impressed when I saw it lol...though I don't think the bat lasted much longer..
