Early fielding errors really cost the Aussies dear, great example of t20 cricket. Just nice for a game against the Aussies to go the distance ;)
Poor bowling as well! It would have cost them more dear if Tait was actually called for the over-stepping!

Have managed to dodge the score all day until now! Good win for us, but got it recorded at home so will give me something to watch later

Where the Aussies that awful?

Please can someone explain why Matt Prior isn't playing.

I appreciate the magnificent Surrey Keeper Steven Davis is talented, but seriously no one in their right mind would say that, on Current Form, Prior isn't the best English keeper batsman in all forms of the game.

(Edit to add English as this isn't meant to be an international debate)

Totally agree with you Buzz, there isn't a keeper around at the moment than can match him, by all means give Davies the T20 spot but one dayers surely have to go to Prior

I'd leave it  to the selectors at the mo, they have some credit in the bank for a change

I read somewhere that the IPL purchases could have something to do with the nationalities of the coaches of the IPL teams. As they're predominantly Saffer/Aussie they bought players they know. As there are no decent English coaches who would be trusted with a billionnaire's toy, then English also rans won't be picked up in the same numbers.

Oh, and there's the availability thing, which played a role in Chris Gayle (Mr 2020) not getting a gig. Chris Blooby Gayle! :)

Davies is young and pushing for a place. why not give him the T20 for a bit of experience, he's a good enough keeper and batsmen to play for england and it means prior has some competition which can only be a good thing.
Personally i dont really rate prior as a batsmen and so would pick davies over him in T20 and ODI anyway, Davies is much more likely to play a big long innings in an ODI than prior imo. Also if your keeper is a proper batsman who can open in ODI then that creates a space down the order to slot in an allrounder.
Don't know if that nakes much sense, tbh i wish davies and tremlett werent picked for england as now surrey will hardly see them next year :(

utter rubbish... prior cant play a long innings? thats just untrue.

Prior has proved himself to be a quality batsman, and definitely should be opening the batting for us in the limited form of the game

As ive said, merely my opinion. I think Davies is much more likely to play a big innings from the top of the order in ODI and set up a big total. I think priors too hit and miss tbh. Never said that prior can't play a long innings, i just think davies would do it more often.

I sort of agree with both of you!!

Bell and Strauss can open the innings and Prior - who I think is good enough to play just as a batsman - can bat down the order.
Bell - Strauss - KP - Colly - Morgan - Prior - is a decent batting line up with Yardy, Bresnen, Swann, Broad, Anderson making up the numbers to play in the World Cup

I don't see Prior down the order in ODI's to be honest. I think he's a little too orthodox & isn't a natural six hitter at the death.
