Grade 5?
« on: January 15, 2011, 11:20:58 PM »

HI,
Hope you're well!

So guys I was at a place where we had nets today so at that shop I saw few bats which had 40+ edges and felt like 2.6/2.7ish in my hands. Those bats were huge I must say.

I tried figuring out the grade and tried looking for grains but I was unable to find any!

It felt really light, had a good balance/pickup etc. So I want to ask was a Kashmiri Willow or I take the shopkeepers word who said it was Grade 5/6?

Sorry couldn't get pictures but it was huge and hopefully next week I'll snap some pictures.

Sitonit, I'm sure if you had seen this then you would have gone nuts!

Though I remember that Kumar Sangakkara said in the interview in which he mentioned Ayrtek (link is somewhere on the Ayrtek board) that he uses a 'Grade 7' Bat..?! Interesting...seem to grade both ways, both Grade 7 bad, if that even exists, and Grade 7 Amazing! ???

Kashmir by the sounds of it. Let us know what it's like after a net or two ;)

LOL guys no I didn't buy it. I don't like buying bats from stores here as they don't have quality bats (some actually do)

Salix was very good Johan and its a gun really!

But Colsy how come it was ultra light as Kashmiris are not light

I'm not sure to be honest with you, but cosmetically it sounds like Kashmir
