My Geoff Wymer Custom Gloves
« on: January 30, 2011, 05:34:03 PM »

Said I would stick up some photos for the keepers on here. Ordered them last week and came on Friday. Geoff was a pleasure to deal with (quite comical with his wife). Asked all the right questions and talked me through the process, sending hand prints etc.

Over the moon with them, nice and supple and looking forward to giving them a run out this evening at nets.

And yes, these are the exact ones you can order on VSports for £120, These cost me £65 with about £3 postage. If they are good enough for Prior, then they are good enough for me!

Hope you enjoy the pics, and questions, fire away

Will

PS - And I hope the retro bedding I found to use compares well against the Hosk rug ;)

They look ace mate, and top value.

Well he has done in the past, and he does make for various pro's. (Between him and Plimmer, they do a good amount) but I'm not that bothered if he does make his or not. Just what I have heard from various sources mate. Don't quote me though!

Very pleased with them, they fit perfectly (well, you would expect them to wouldn't you!)

I am not a massive fan of disco gear, like stuff to look classy and always thought that all black gloves looked the business, a la Stewart/Russell

Only going to wear cotton inners as well, chamois would loose the feel as they are so snug

They look excellent! And I have a hell of a job getting them to fit perfectly with my paws! So may be an idea for me if I keep more!! Two questions..........

1. How do they get the measurements correct? Do you have to draw around your hands and send them to him, ala nursery time drawing stylie?
2. do they only come in black?

Got it in one Pete. Traced round both of my hands (without inners), requested black leather and black palms, t-webbing, and cuff style. And posted them to him, none of this email nonsense!

He does do red palms, and I believe he has brown/blue leather. I am due to speak with him tomorrow anyway to thank him, so I will ask him and come back to you.

I like the sound of brown/blue - if it's a tan sort of brown.
Have my Birthday in a couple of months so these could be a pressie from the missus!
Does he have a website with examples?

And pink watsontotty?? I reckon I'm butch and macho enough to carry that off!  ;)

I don't think he owns a computer mate, never mind has a website!

He makes the custom gloves for VSports and they have some pics and colour options here

http://www.vsports.co.uk/Wicketkeeping/Vsports/default.aspx

But you pay double ordering through them, but if you call him up, he does them half the price, with a turnaround of about a week. They are exceptional quality. Put it this way, I had them on an hour ago and can still smell the leather on my hands

I would quite like either blue and white colour scheme, similar to the Kook Ice bats.
Or tan and blue would look ok. But I guess I will wait for feedback and see what colours he does!  8)
