Hi chaps,

Had first indoor net session of the year sunday and couple of people had new bats which they seemed quite proud of.

One of our third teamers forked out on a top of the range piri piri from our local sports shop- 230 notes he paid for it; whats worse, reckons he got a good deal as he only paid 230 for it!  ??? ???

Massive bat though, must weigh 2 11 id say, 10 straight grains and stickers are quite pimp- but the one o the back was peeling off which would pee me right off as thats prob the coolest thing about the bat! anyone knows who makes them?

Another lad, only 14, had a SH krakatoa players prob 2 pound 9 and paid 200 for it, RRP 250 apparantly1 Looked nice but pricey much?! He looked at my SSH thruxton which weighs circa 2 6 and said it hasnt really got  middle! Has a very low spine but quite thick edges, seems to go well and light as a feather.

Has anyone seen some bats at nets this winter and thought ''mate you should have checked out custom bats before you got thoroughly ripped off?!''

Only thing is, we end up hooked and end up buying loads of bats that add up to more lol

Best Wishes

Couple of our first team top 4 bought Blank custom made Nixons for around £200 each, good bats. Nixon Duffle looks nice too.

Diverted one of our youth teamers from Kook to Vantage. Quite proud of myself :)

Nets are Friday so will have a browse at some wood.

I feel sorry for people who buy bats at RRP when I know they can do better...will be diverting clubmates to Custom Bats, in particular Lekkas as I will be selling them, in the summer :)

No-one except me seems to take new bats to nets for a play. It's very disappointing.

Umm having possessed the Ayrtek and Slazenger for a week or two I know them better than the other two but the Vantage was very, very nice and credit to Dan. If I were to pick one I'm afraid it would be the bleached £60 Slazenger!

Not an awful lot of new stuff, seen some Woodworm Alpha softs, and a vantage hanging around, but that was won at our charity raffle I think! Just a lot of different batmakers around, some classic Salixes, a Nixon or two, and a lovely Newbery Uzi!
