Diamond in the rough, my new project bat

Bargain. It has arrived and yes, it does need a toe repair (which I will do) but even it it's present state, it feels a bit special. Pickup like you don't get on modern bats, and its a 1st grade too. Bonus. Pics of the progress to follow as and when :D

I rememeber pointing thaat one out and you went sssh lol. 21 pound, good deal mate!!I just had to clamp my thruxton...will u be doing the same with that?

Yeh, going to glue and clamp the crack back into place then once thats settled, drill and dowel it across the blade. If it works, great. If not, it's 21 quid for a bit of history.

how does one drill and dowel? sorry for amateurish question, but diy isnt really my think right now  :P :-[

I'll tell you when I've tried it :D

I think it's a simple as drilling a hole into the edge, across the blade, sticking some glue in and tapping a piece of dowel in. Idea being it adds strength to the damaged area.
