I have a question for members of the forum.
If Kieron Pollard was English, would he get a game in our one day side? The one glaring omission from our team is a six hitter and I have a view that frequently this ability is coached out of youngsters.

he is currently on 31 from 12 balls against the formidable side ;) that is Holland

p.s. it is also great to see a batsman in a sun hat - brings back memories of Carl Hooper in his haydays!!

Could do with a maroon sun hat though ha

Prob would not get in if English as we like proper batsmen not hitters and I agree six hitting is frowned upon by coaches as they always say keep it on the floor

Is he wearing a sun hat? Nearly as good as my locks flowing out the back of my masuri ;)

I would give Pollard a run for sure. It's about time the selectors gave Colly the golden handhsake, yes he's been good for us, but he's not in form and not likely to get any back under pressure at a World Cup.

I dread it when he comes to the crease these days, and it's awful it's come to that. Just my views, apologies to any Geordies ;)

Probably not, which I think is sad.

I agree that our coaching has seemed to be a little obsessed with the high elbow over the years, and some of the better players in our current set up were raised in other countries which says alot i think.

From the selectors' point of view, no he would not. However, with Morgan out of the side, the only real six hitters we have left are Pietersen, and, well... Colly's not in form, so probably Bresnan! We need a reliable striker of the ball, or even an unreliable striker of the ball! Someone like Peter Trego, an all-round player who is better than Colly+Bopara+Wright with the ball, and a better striker of the ball than the last 2... And probably colly too!

I agree we like what we call consistent batsmen but gayle is called hit and miss but his odi avg is 1 less than Lara and 5 less than sachin I would take that

Hat trick's are flowing at the WC!

Yesterday it was the brilliance of Roach, today it was Malinga! Stunning bowing.

Malinga's 2nd WC hat trick, he got one vs SA in 2007
