i got all ur emails, sorry i couldn't reply as I was at Kookabura factory , they really looked after me and worked out my weakness of buying great looking bats, i have just realised i have no money left to pay for the extra bats I bought

I am pretty picky about weights and I like them to weigh no more than 2'8.5, so 2'8 is perfect. I like big and light

That is a very fair point. I have 3 2.11s/2.12s (3 in this weight range in total) and find no problems with them. But if I found a big 2.8/2.9 I would happily use that, hence SS Bats do appeal a lot to me. But as you say, each to their own..

i like a bat around 2.10-2.12

i tend to find if i use 2.8ish my bat speed is to fast and i am early on lots of shots.

so opted for something bit heavy 2.10 is perfect if am batting up order and anything from 2.12 - 2.15 is ok for smashing

Horses for courses.  I think our English friends seem to go for heavier bats than we do in Australia.  I'm in Perth and couldn't manage some of the 2.12+ beauties we see on the forum here. A 2.8 Gladiator would have to be as good a bats as available, I look forward to the OP's thoughts and review.

Personell preference and some play in the low slow pitches that you can get away with a heavier bat but I use 2lb12 as any lighter feels like a twig no matter what the size but I can wield a 2lb12 quite quickly so suits me

i use  a 2lb 6oz ss grade one blank which in truth is as big as a 2lb 12oz bat from any were else it massive...

I'am a touch player and play on quite hard and bouncy pitches if that helps and as a small man i like a higher middle than most

This is true, I don't know why I didnt think of that. I find that if I use a hevier bat, I pretty much don't play the cut shot at all and I am often pretty late on my drives.  The only shot I play better is the pull shot, no idea why, but it's true.

I am a mix of touch and power. I like to move the ball around and rotate strike, however, should I decide to go for it, I like to know that there I have a fair bit of wood behind the ball. Playing in Australia the pitches are generally bouncy so a light bat helps my bat speed a fair bit as well.
