Different companies will have different opinions on what "overdried" is as they will operate to a different core moisture content.

I can't speak for the E41 specifically as it is not a uk product but I would assume that they are sourced from timber that has a naturally low moisture content and has been through the same process of kilning as other GN bats. Hence you get some with 41mm edges and some that won't. Glad to see that the boys in OZ take structural integrity into consideration! As for performance. I could not conclusivley say!

The e41's dont have 41mm edges. The bottom of the range do, but the top range ones dont due to structural concerns, that's what it says in the GCCC catalogue and thats what they said to me. In saying that though, they are still very big for the weight

GN Website says 41mm edges

I can assure you that most do not from what I've seen anyway. They are still massive and some reach the 41mm edges, but most do not.

The 41mm edges aren't new as the XXX range at Meulemans from last year had 42-45mm edges and that has continued this year

I am not doubting you Langer but it doesn't really make sense....when every maker is using the highest quality willow to get the biggest profiles and which are only good for approx 1000 runs and yet GN are getting bigger profiles on their bottom of the range bats.... sounds like the total opposite of what every other batmaker is doing is all

We grow all our own willow, we do all raw work from tree to cleft onsite in robertsbridge so we have controll over the kilning process of every cleft before it is exported around the world so we are able to spread these XL clefts that are used for huge profile evenly.

Thsankyou Alex for your time. It was pleasure meeting you and Yes you are correct i picked up some lovely bats, I couldn't stop adding extra bats to my order and have just realised after going through the invoice that i have spent too much. The bats will be in the shop next week so if any one is looking for hand picked GN bats then make your way to Uzi Sports.

Regards

Asad
