One man's odd is another man's "distinctive"!

We have run this number system for some time, butas I recall when we introduced it "100's" were being used by another brand, so we did our own thing!

Kind regards

Edward
OK Edward, I was thinking it was to stand out from the crowd, fair enough! Good on GM then, being different!! :)
Thanks for taking the time to answer, your points are valid, was just wondering that was all :)

Edward i have to say that it's really refreshing to see the GM top man taking time out to listen to us mere mortals. It's says alot about your customer focus.

Kind of you to say so, thank you.

My wife would comment that it's because I haven't got a life!  :o

Truth is we love listening to people who play and buy cricket. Always interesting, always thought provoking. A topic from here has been bouncing around our Director's email all night!

I do agree with 100* - thanks for taking the time to answer! Out of interest, what prompted the sticker change from 2010 to 2011, I mean the style has changed a lot since the last 5 years? Is this style something you will be persevering with? They are starting to grow on me now! But the only set I don't like is the Apex one... :|

GM's market share since we moved to our DXM processes has grown substantially, mostly at the expense of brands such as Adi, Slaz and Kookaburra who don't have their own factories and therefore cannot make their own bats, nor rigorously control design and quality that ends up in your hands.

The brand is on the move, we cannot stand still. When we looked at how the brand appeared on the diversity of goods we supply from bats to shoes to bags to pads etc, in truth we had become a little inconsistent and lacked brand clarity particularly when seen on TV / on the web / in the newspapers etc. So we sat down with the clever bods who understand these things and rationalised our logo in particular to that which you see in the 2011 range.

Quite a brave decision perhaps as folk (a) particularly liked the 2010 bats and (b) are notoriously conservative. However, sometimes you have to do these things to ensure the longevity of the brand and the continual, gentle evolution that will unfurl. Classy, timeless, confident and clear, we're enjoying our (subtly different) new look. Hope you do too!

Kind regards

Edward

You pretty much persuaded me to like the new design there. I hated them when the first came out, and in truth I still prefer the older style, but knowing that GM are trying to set themselves apart makes me like them and appreciate the effort you guys are putting in.

Yeah me too. Quite the answer ;) - though I agree with that, so I guess this could be the new sticker design for a while, in a period of transition to maintain the brand over the coming years, along with your other innovations :)

Thanks chaps. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course but it is pleasing to have an opportunity to explain our rationale. We try not to do things just for the sake of it.
