My visit to the Talisman
« on: February 18, 2011, 01:31:47 PM »

On the back of countless emails to Mike, and a bat that decided it wanted to become two pieces, I ordered a copy from Mike. Previously Mike had an Excalibur made up for me (pre runner to a TT) and I loved the bat. So it just made sense to go back to him when it came to making a new purchase.

In well under a week of ordering I found myself on a late night drive down to meet the man and pick up some goodies. I went down there, expecting to spend alot more money than I had, and pick up a lovely bat!

So after Mike agreeing to meet up, I arrived around 9ish, and was shown a bat that not only matched my previous one, it bettered it. Previously I had discussed with Mike also buying a net bat, but after realising funds were short, decided against it, but once there, Mike had a TT sitting there, matching the weight, and so out came the money!

So this is what I came back with

On the right is the main bat, and the left the net bat.

Main Bat

Net Bat

Overall Ive got to say, I am incredibly happy. Both bats came in at around 2.10 fully dressed, and pick up well. Im not going to talk about the ping, as we all know what you get with a Keeley bat.

Thanks to Mike for sourcing Bats, that only he seems to be able to! Also thanks to Dan from Instinct Cricket who I met. Seems a really nice guy, who has a real interest, and can only wish him well for the future! He also showed me anAyrtek lid, which I will be buying soon.

Also waiting on another bat, in LB, same design, so will post pics of that soon.

The Podfather never disappoints.....2 lovely looking bats which, no doubt will perform as well as they look.

They both look good! The one on the left looks too good to be a net bat!

I really agree. I feel like I am doing it a dis service calling it a net bat. It will probably be my reserve in the games now! I did initially want just a cheap old net bat. I have used that one in a net on Wednesday, and it feels so nice.
