i like bats with a mid to low middle and slight bow.
when asking for custom made bats I like to have a dead weight of 2.10/2.11 but with a light pick-up.
2.10/2.11 is the weight most bat makers prefer for custom made bats as this provides optimal balance between performance and pick-up
In general the clefts you get make a real good looking bat at those weights [2.10/2.11] and are easier to make. When you get into the lower stuff the clefts available to make a big looking bat are hard to find...
Here let me show you -
the one on left as you look at it is 2lb 9oz and hasn't been sanded
the one in middle is 2lb 15oz unfinished and not sanded
If you take into account the spine etc and angle of the left one there isn't a huge different between the 2 ---- but the middle one will make a cracking bat at 2lb 10/11oz
I hope that makes sense
Edit: Sorry it doesn't really make sense - the one left will be, when all finshed, with grip etc about 2lb 9oz but the one in middle would end up being a smaller bat, then the one on the left, if I took it down to that weight. But if I made it into a 2lb 10/11oz bat it would make a cracking bat
[I hope that makes more sense now]
PS: Can't remember the weight of the one on the right
