I'm going to let Asad have his input as it was he who asked the bat maker to clone the Tendulkar profile.

These bats were going to be made with Tendulkar original(old shape) shape but we couldn't control the weight as I wanted light bats. You are correct Buzz that by doing that it is not exact copy of profile what Tendulkar uses.
The pick up on these bats is excellent and you could say that these are like Asian bats but which bat is not made in Asian style now a days.
I have a Sachin bat which has been sent to my son by SS guy and I would be happy to share the photos with you.

Regards

Asad

Still amazes me that sachin uses 2lb12 bats and used to use 3lb as alot of people say you need a light bat to face true pace or to bat at the top of the order as 2lb12+ bats are usually described as sloggers bats

Back when Sachin was a little kid playing in Mumbai (prolly 10-12 y/o), he couldn't afford a bat of his own. So he'd share his elder brother Ajit's bat. Obviously that was too heavy for him then, but that's how he got used to heavy bats at a very young age. He's started using lighter bats after getting chronic tennis elbow. I believe he said he uses 2'12 bats now, but Mike might know better...

will do , i need to find as he hides away his bats. He has just signed a deal with SS.
I think it was 2.10 dead weight but pick up was like a 2.8 weight.
He will be receiving few more bats from SS as they are being made for him at the moment

He does indeed uses around 2.12 weight as the delivery he got from BAs recently was made in that weight

Asad, is your son a pro then if he is getting a deal with SS, or is this done through yourself?

He plays for Gloucestershire 2nd team and hoping to get into 1st team. He is currently busy with his A level exams so I am trying my best to keep him away spending all his time on Cricket.
He spent last week training with 1st team at Bristol County Ground.
The SS guys signed him directly  and I don't know the exact details of the deal.

Saying that SS and BAS guys are very close family friends and they signed him not on our friendship basis but on his cricketing abilities(I hope)

Sounds like he has a chance of making it then Asad. Will he play club cricket if not in the first team ?

well John Bracewell told him that if he scores few hundreds in the 2nd team he will give him a chance in the 1st team.
He will be playing for Marlborough 1st team on Saturdays first half of the season as he is their Captain.
